Guest guest Posted April 29, 2008 Report Share Posted April 29, 2008 Spicy Barbecued Cashews 1/4 cup corn syrup 2 tablespoons water 2 teaspoons salt, coarse 2 teaspoons cumin, ground 1 teaspoon curry powder 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper 1 pound cashews, raw, unsalted " For a not-so-spicy version, use half the amount of curry powder and cayenne, Raw, unsalted cashews are available at bulk and health food stores. I like to give these away in 1/2 cup amounts in little plastic bags tied with attractive ribbons. Be sure to label them " spicy " . " In medium saucepan, combine corn syrup with water and spices. Bring to a boil. Stir in the nuts. Spread on cookie sheet lined with aluminum foil and bake 1 hour at 275F. Stir every 20 minutes. Remove from oven and cool 20 minutes. Makes 3 cups.
