Dear Sir,

Asofotida is a sap of a tree from Iran.The name of the plant is

devils dung,stinking gum,etc.It is a herbaceous perennial plant.The

sap dries and turns a deep colour.The smell also becomes sharp.It is

an adultration that is available.It is mixed with rice flour and

arabic gum.It is used to highten the flavour and taste of the

food.It is used in veg food in Indian cuisine by and large.
