Guest guest Posted March 27, 2007 Report Share Posted March 27, 2007 Oshi Joor-Rawtee (Rice and Mung Beans, Afghani) 1 cup mung beans 3 1/2 cups water 1 cup rice salt 1 1/2 tsps. ground cumin 1/4 tsp. pepper Put beans in a pot and cover with water. Simmer for 30 minutes. Skim off skins as they rise to the surface of water and discard. Add rice, salt, cumin and pepper and continue to simmer over low heat for an additional 30 minutes.
