Guest guest Posted February 17, 2007 Report Share Posted February 17, 2007 Szechuan-Grilled Mushrooms 1 pound large fresh mushrooms 2 tablespoons soy sauce 2 teaspoons peanut or vegetable oil 1 teaspoon dark sesame oil 1 clove garlic, minced 1/2 teaspoon crushed Szechuan peppercorns or red pepper flakes Place mushrooms in large plastic bag. Add remaining ingredients to bag. Close bag securely; shake to coat mushrooms with marinade. Marinate at room temperature 15 minutes or cover and refrigerate up to 8 hours. (Mushrooms will absorb marinade.) Thread mushrooms onto skewers. Grill or broil mushrooms 5 inches from heat 10 minutes or until lightly browned, turning once. Serve immediately. Variation: For Szechuan-Grilled Mushrooms and Onions, add 4 green onions, cut into 1-1/2-inch pieces, to marinade. Alternately thread onto skewers with mushrooms. Makes 4 servings.
