Guest guest Posted February 4, 2007 Report Share Posted February 4, 2007 India-Potato Vadas 4 large potatoes, boiled 4 green chilies, chopped 1 small onion, finely chopped 1 tbsp. ginger-garlic paste 1/2 tsp. turmeric powder 1/2 tsp. red chili powder 1/2 tsp. garam masala powder 1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves, finely chopped salt to taste Batter: 3 tbsps. besan pinch of turmeric and red chili powders 1 tsp. cumin seeds pinch of sugar salt to taste oil for deep frying Mash potatoes. Add all the ingredients mentioned and mix well. Make small round balls of the mixture. Mix the gram flour with 1/2 cup water to make a semi-thick batter. Dip the balls potato balls in the batter. Deep fry over medium heat till they turn light brown. Remove onto absorbent paper Serve hot with coriander-mint dip/chutney. Makes 10 to 12 vadas. All new Mail Get news delivered.
