Guest guest Posted January 15, 2007 Report Share Posted January 15, 2007 Pachadi (Spiced Yogurt) 2 cups yogurt 1 tablespoon roasted-rice powder 1 teaspoon mustard powder 2 medium onion, finely chopped 2 green chiles, finely chopped 1 piece ginger, 1 1/2 inch, finely chopped 2 tablespoons oil 1 1/2 tablespoons salt 2 tablespoons coconut paste 10 curry leaves 1 pinch asafetida Heat oil in a pan and sauté onion, ginger and green chiles. When they become brown add curry leaves and mustard powder. Add coconut paste and fry well until water dries up. Add 1/2 cup water and asafetida. Bring to a boil. When water dries up put off from fire. Beat the yogurt well and add the mixture to it. Sprinkle rice powder. It will thicken the pachadi. Makes 4 servings.
