I made this for a post Thanksgiving dinner since we did not make our

own Thanksgiving dinner. It is great over mashed potatoes or

dressing.

 

Savory Mushroom Gravy

 

 

2 huge onions ( grapefruit size)

1 1/2 cups sliced crimini mushrooms

1 cup dried shittake mushrooms ( rehydrated)

1/4 cup ghee

1/4 cup olive oil

15 cloves garlic

1 quart, more or less of water

1-2 tsp. black pepper

1 tsp. sage

1 tsp. thyme

1 tsp. rosemary

1 tsp. ground cumin

1 Tbsp. ww flour

soy sauce to taste

 

 

Saute onions and mushrooms and garlic in oil and ghee until brown.

Add herbs and gently sprinkle on flour. Add soy sauce. Simmer 15

minutes longer.
