Guest guest Posted September 25, 2006 Report Share Posted September 25, 2006 Christmas Yummy Spiced Nuts 6 cups of assorted raw nuts (not roasted or salted), such as pecans, walnuts, pistachios or whole almonds 1/4 cup pure maple syrup 2 tablespoons vegetable oil 3/4 teaspoon regular salt or sea salt 1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger 1 teaspoon ground coriander 1 teaspoon ground cumin 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper, or more to taste cooking oil spray Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Place nuts in large mixing bowl. Add syrup and oil, and toss. Sprinkle on salt, ginger, coriander, cumin and cayenne pepper. Toss until nuts are evenly coated. Spray large baking sheet that has rim (such as a jelly roll pan) with cooking oil spray. Pour nuts evenly onto the pan. Bake, removing pan from oven to stir nuts after every 5 minutes, until nuts are toasted and fragrant and have absorbed the syrup, about 20 minutes. Makes 6 cups. The best gets better.
