Guest guest Posted September 20, 2006 Report Share Posted September 20, 2006 Broccoli with Spicy Sesame Oil 1 bunch fresh broccoli 1 1/2 tablespoons sesame oil 1 small garlic clove, minced 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper 2 teaspoons soy sauce 1 teaspoon lemon juice Bring a large saucepan of salted water to a boil. Cut broccoli into florets. Peel tough outer layer from stalks; trim off woody ends. Cut stalks diagonally into 1/4 " slices. Add broccoli to water and blanch for 1 minute. Drain. In a large skillet, warm sesame oil, garlic and red pepper over low heat for three minutes. Stir in soy sauce and lemon juice. Add broccoli, toss and coat. Cook's Notes: I prefer to add several large garlic cloves to this dish! Based on individual serving. Serving 4. Calories 72, Fat 5 g, Carbohydrates 5 g, Protein 4 g.
