Welcome in here with all of us.

Thank you for explaining Grunt/Slump. I have tons of cookbooks and I have yet

to ever see that dessert anywhere. It's the same with perogi's when we were

talking about those, I've never heard of those either. Then egg cream came up,

it's a drink???

I'm a Los Angeleno and these are all new to me.

I can find veggie sushi rolls and vegetarian Chinese and Mexican food in a

split second and I work were a lady comes once a week and sells fresh avovados

2 for $1.00.

If youi have a slump recipe to share, that would be wonderful. Do you have

any recipe requests? I have bunches to post and will look through my piles for

you.

Smiles, Donna

Basically, I'm a lurker who came over from Pat's veggie spice list -

where I like to lurk too. ;-)

I'm an East Coast person, well if you consider Buffalo, NY the east

coast. I didn't realize that a slump was an east coast term, learn

something new all the time. I've heard of slumps and I make them once

in a while.

From Fresh from the Vegetarian Slow Cooker

Grunt: A stewed fruit dessert with a biscuit topping also known as SLUMP

and in case anyone wanted to know....

Cobbler: A baked fruit dessert made in a deep baking dish topped with

a thick biscuit crust.

Crisp: A baked fruit dessert with a crumbly pastry mixture topping

made in a pie plat or other shallow baking dish.

Crumble: A baked fruit dessert topped with a crumbly pastry mix.

Thanks to everyone who posts such yummy recipes.

Thanks for welcome. I'll have to see if I have good slump recipe or

two. I haven't been in the baking mood, we had a crazy hot summer here

in Buffalo and I just couldn't bring myself to bake. :-) It snowed

yesterday so the heat is no longer an issue.

Fresh avacado at 2 for $1 what a deal!!

ugh, egg cream or even plain old cream soda. yuck - in my opinion!

It's fun to learn about the foods from the other side of our country,

it can so different from one place to another.

No recipe requests at the time but thanks for asking.

I'm off to check on my stuffing.

Stuffing? Now you have me ready to run downstairs and have my lunch. Yummy!

I don't like cream soda or ginger ale either.

Maybe not with the change in weather you will pick up on baking and just maybe

you will run across a special recipe in our files to try out.

Happy Saturday! Donna
