Guest guest
Been out of touch over the weekend and then was out of the office on Monday. Yeah, Saturday night was pretty exciting for us. Viola Center actually made it as a mention on the weather on Channel 8. That's the " neighborhood " of Audubon County that we live in. The storm moved extremely fast over us, but we could see some rotation. I could tell that it was still too early to do anything over us, but that it would continue to rotate and turn into something. Woodward is NE of us, so it was probably that cloud that turned into a tornado. Those poor folks, I'm sending them many blessings, as the clean up will be especially hard with this snow, wind and extreme cold. (high will be 20 today). Our property gets lots of drifts so although we may have only mesured 3-5 inches, some areas are up to my shins. The wind was quite wicked last night with gusts around 30mph at 7pm. It was difficult to get out of bed this morning to bundle up and do my outside chores. My dog, Winnie, loves the snow and seems impervious to the wind. So she had fun running around while I fed and watered the Guinea fowl, the barn cats and the wild birds. It's a beautiful day today, bright blue sky and lots of sunshine....well, beautiful if you stay indoors! :-) Hope everyone else is doing well. Made a lovely lentil and rice casserole last night, perfect for the stormy, cold weather. I'll post that next. Guest guest
--- Denise, glad to hear you guys are OK. I really don't envy the people who have to rebuild right now--it is brutally cold here. my dog also seems impervious to cold and didn't mind running like an idiot through the snow : ). winds go right through all layers--can't wait for wind to die down : ). we will pray for your friend's daughter here also. we have been through similar life-threatening circumstances and it is never easy, especially with kids involved. take care : ).....
