Guest guest
There are some pretty decent subs out there that are a step down but still have some milk-ey stuff in them. Veggie Shreds (and most of the subs you find) have casinite in them, which is still milk. But they taste a little different and are a good stepping stone in my opinion. I went down to those first, cause I ate a LOT of cheese (but it makes me very sick) Eventually I stopped getting that and searched for vegan cheese: Vegan Rella, Vegan Gourmet are the two I use. They are " good " for things like pizza and some pastas, but I found after I took the step down that I didn't want cheese as much. Now it's a treat (the vegan cheese is so pricey!) and I make it one. I don't use any cheese subs on anything else, like sandwiches, mexican ect. anymore. Just if I need that melty feel on pizza or in some pasta bakes (Lasagne ect..) Sometimes if i am feeling kindof cheesy I make a grilled cheese with the vegan cheese...but again, it's a rare treat now. For some things where you just need flavor, try nutrional yeast! I put it on my popcorn, on top of pasta...anywhere you just need a hint of the flavor. ~Mel --- Melissa <mapalicka wrote: > I can't find Organic Valley Soy milk around here > either (as some of you > said, only organic cow milk) A question for vegans > out there, how do > you/did you wean yourself off of cheese?
