Guest guest
Hi all, I tried the first listed powdered laundry detergent tonight and it was great! The clothes smelled cleaner than they ever have and I used Tide! Wanted to share since it is cheap and easy to make, less chemicals too. Julie Powdered Laundry Detergent 1 Cup Grated Fels Naptha Soap 1/2 Cup Washing Soda 1/2 Cup Borax For light load, use 1 tablespoon. For heavy or heavily soiled load, use 2 tablespoons. Powdered Laundry Detergent 2 bars Fels Naptha soap, grated (or enough bars to make 28 ounces) 8 cups washing soda 4 cups borax 4 cups powdered all-color bleach (optional) 20 drops (or more) essential oil (optional) Mix all ingredients together and store in a lidded container. This will last a LONG time! For light loads, use 1 tablespoon. For heavy or heavily soiled loads, use 2 tablespoons. ** add 1/4 to 1/2 cup of baking soda (softens and deodorizes) and or white vinegar (softens and reduces static) for fabric softener. Dishwashing Soap Use 2 tablespoons baking soda and 2 tablespoons borax per load. " Tip: You don't have to let the water go down the drain when running the hot water to the dishwasher or shower. Put a pitcher under it and use the cooler water left in the pipes for dog water, plant watering, etc.
