Does anyone remember the movie " Powder " and the scene where he placed the hunter's hands on the deer that he had just shot? Still give me the chills. I so loved that movie. Guest guest
No, don't cry. My Mom watched her DAd hynt and raise chickens for their eggs and of course dinner. She's been a vegetarian since a child. She did suffer a lot from her parents for turning down her meat, and seafood portions. She stuck to it. She said it horrified her as a kid after she saw her Dad with the chickens. Her one sister rarely ate any meat her whole life and the other sister became an animal rescue person. She had a home with every pet you can imagine most were previously abused or she would put them up from the SPCA. She said she would spend her life saving animals since their Dad killed them. Really those sweet little boys might just surprise you. I received and " F " in the 8th grade for walking out of class when they brought the frog in to dissect. I love frogs as you can tell. The nun was far from happy with me. Didn't bother me a bit. I stand firm on my beliefs. I'm still trying to understand it but I'm sure I never will. I see no sport in hiding in a tree, dressed like a tree, and killing a defenseless animal. I couldn't even bear to have him touch me. Ugh! What saddens me most of all is that they have two sons (a three year old and a two month old) who will inevitably follow in their father's footsteps. I could just cry. I remember " Powder " and the deer scene. I bought the DVD. I've watched it many times. Unfortunately I doubt many hunters watched it as many times as I did. Of course, I really want to run in a field, get hit by lightning and shoot off in all directions in bright, shiny colorful balls of energy . . .
