Guest guest
Here is that yummy biscuit recipe i promised to post for Bron. i tried it from the cookbook 'Vegan Planet'. They are wonderful served with a hearty bean stew on a cold day during the season of Samhain. Pumpkin Biscuits 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 Tbs baking powder 1/4 tsp salt 1/2 tsp ground allspice 1/4 cup canned pumpkin 1/2 cup soy milk or other dairy-free milk 3 Tbs corn oil 1 Tbs pure maple syrup Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Lightly oil a baking sheet and set aside. In a large bowl, sift together the dry ingredients. In a smaller bowl combine the moist ingredients and blend together until smooth. Combine both mixtures together, stirring until the dough is just mixed and hold together. Transfer to a lightly floured surface and roll out to about 1/2 inch thick. Using a biscuit cutter or small drinking glass, cut the dough into 2-inch rounds and place on the prepared baking sheet. Reroll dough scraps and cut out more biscuits. Bake on the center oven rack until golden brown on top, 12 to 14 minutes. Serve hot. Yield: about 20 biscuits ~ pt ~ A few days ago I walked along the edge of the lake and was treatedÊto the crunch and rustle of leaves with each step I made. The acousticsÊof this season are different and all sounds, no matter how hushed,Ê are as crisp as autumn air. ~ Eric Sloane
