Guest guest
Yes, is does taste like Crumbles, you need to seasonings to the water when you reconstitute it. It picks up flavors, liquiud smoke gives it a good smokey flavor. Kitchen Bouquet will give it a rich color, etc. Not sure if you have it in your stores. Do you have access to Whole Foods? You can get it from The Mail Order Catalog, they have so many varities, chicken strips, chuck beef types, etc. I like it since it's quite inexpensive to cook with and it has no expiration date and stores easily. If you find it let me know and I'll help you. We have info under the files for soy based foods, recipes there using it. This is an unuaual recipe and very delicious. I love olives. Mya and I can eat the whole can once it's open. This is one of her favorite recipes also. Unusual, that's me and my recipes............(:- ) Jane <twoslim wrote: Wow, Donna this is an unusual recipe. Thank you. We absolutely love olives. I throw them in macarooni salad, on pizza and on many crackers! I've never tasted TVP, I just figured it tasted like the crumbles you buy in the freezer section. Is that what TVP tastes like? Jane " She came from Planet Claire " I know she came from there. Guest guest
Thanks, Donna, I'll look for TVP. We don't have WHole Foods but we have another store that has good selections of this type. I'll have to try this. Jane
