Guest guest
Hi Gary, I ate a few leaves and they were kind of a tropical sweet. I didn't notice a mint taste, Eeee I hope it doesn't end up with a minty flavor. It's a young plant and looks very hearty. I crushed a few leaves and added to weak tea and I really enjoyed it that way. I want to cook with it now. I will view these links this evening when I have more time to open them. Thanks again Gary Garden Guru,,,,,,,,,,,,,(:--) Donna Gary Mattingly <gsmattingly wrote: Hi, I've honestly never tried it in cooking. However on this page is a pesto using it: http://www.farmersfreshfood.com/csaweeklyinfo.htm <http://www.farmersfreshfood.com/csaweeklyinfo.htm> On this page: http://www.ebfarm.com/FarmStand/HerbID.aspx it mentions using the flowers only for cooking. Here: http://www.sallys-place.com/food/columns/gilbert/sage.htm " They have a tangy, citrus-mint flavor.. " I can say, I planted one next to the house this past spring and it is doing great! Smells good too. Gary --- purplepassion <thelilacflower wrote: > Can I use my pineapple sage for a pesto?
