Guest guest
You know, I have never had enough left to freeze. I'm not sure. Now I guess we will have to find out. Donna jandemommy <jandemommy wrote: Donna-- do you know if your mushroom gravy recipe freezes well at all? I have quite a few mushrooms to use and thought it might be nice to make some gravy up that can be heated up for a quick meal. thanks : )......... Guest guest
--- I'll make a batch today to try : ). will also be making a large batch of pumpkin butter today after church. yesterday was a day of experimenting in kitchen. I made veggie Italian " sausage " and " chicken " cutlets. The " sausages " turned out good and would be awesome in sauce or in a " meatball " hero. Haven't tried cutlets yet as they came out of crock-pot kind of late last night--they smelled good though. I'm hoping the gravy turns out so I can take some with me for Thanksgiving to my mom's. She is a control-freak about food and we can't bring anything unless it's just for us personally--it throws her idea of perfection off : ). we grew up on the same 10 meals and 3 kinds of veggies from cans with occasional iceberg salad so she really doesn't know what to do with me anymore : )......take care : ).... Guest guest
Anne, it's no wonder you have jumped into this lifestyle. You have really opened your taste buds being a vegetarian for such a short time. My ex came from a home where the Mom cooked the same 7 meals and didn't own a cookbook and would not use a recipe if you offered her one for a dish I took and she love. He was overjoyed with military meals since they were something different. He would eat anything I cooked and beg for seconds. If I try a new recipe now and I don't care for it I just call him up and he will run by and take it on his way home. The next day he will tell me how delicious it was.....LOL He's 75% converted over the years but if someone hands him a burger he eats it. Is your Mom willing to try anything you cook? Is she stubborn? jandemommy <jandemommy wrote: --- I'll make a batch today to try : ). will also be making a large batch of pumpkin butter today after church. yesterday was a day of experimenting in kitchen.
