Yes, brown sugar is better, use the dark brown. It's not refined. I like the

turbinado sugar and the regular market sells it. Ever used it at Starbucks in

the little brown packet? I roll my cookies in it before I bake them.

Steel cut oats cooked up with a teapsoon of brown sugar. Yummmmmmmmmy

I really don't prefer to use honey, I rather use the maple and blackstrap, just

because honey gives me the heeby jeebies for some strange reason. I DID put it

in my green tea the other day because I am all out of maple syrup.

Thought I was gonna get my blackstrap molasses and maple syrup today :o( can't

go till next Sunday, boo hoo, now will have to go a week on honey or processed

sugar.

I wonder if brown sugar is better for us than white sugar, something tells me

yes.

Re: NAtural sweetners

I think that the opposition to honey is that the bees are, um, used

and discarded sometimes. I would imagine that smaller honey bee

farms could be more humane in the care of the bees, let them make

their honey, ,... but from what I have read about large

honey " prductions, " is that they take what they need from the bees,

exhust them, then let them die? I am not vegan and still use honey,

but I try to get it locally as opposed to store brand. I don' t

know if this is really any better? Maple syrup is a good sweetener,

brown rice syrup too.
