Guest guest
This isn't long winded, I really enjoyed reading about you and your family and the transition and you taking the time to answer the group question. This is very helpful for all of us. It's amazing kids their age would associate animals, pets, meat and view their diet as they did. Keep up the good work, there are so many good recipes out there to keep them happy. You and Denise are the two pregnant vegetarians so she might be able to help you with changes in body weight, etc. Donna Donna Jeaninne <jeaninneraaberg wrote: , purplepassion <thelilacflower> wrote: > > Have any other members converted a meat eater(s) and if so how did you do it? But I kind of feel that Dh and I both converted eachother. My dd decided for herself that she wanted to stop eating meat when she realized where the meat came from. I collect ceramic chickens and she LOVES them. When she found out that she was eating a real chicken one day, she freaked and refused to eat it again... She isn't so rigid anymore (she'll eat it if she's hungry), but she always asks if what we're having is " real " , meaning an animal food.... I think my son really got me thinking the most about it though. He came home one day from school and declared that he wasn't going to eat " beef " anymore because it came from a cow (he's 9 yrs old). This happened before my daughter decided to stop eating meat (or as much meat). So, with the kids behind us, we made the decision as a family to stop purchasing meat for the household. I don't know if I notice any bodily changes in us... One thing I can think of (but I am not sure if it has to do with not eating meat) is that I have only gained 10 pounds so far for my pregnany. I am 27 weeks, 3 days along and usually I have already gained 20 pounds by now... (this is my 3rd pregnancy). Someone suggested that it was because of my eating habits. So who knows! Well this response sure got long winded. LOL Sorry about that. Jeaninne
