Guest guest
Hi, I just signed on to the group and was browsing the Thanksgiving type recipes. I like the cranberries in the salad idea! I am thinking that I may make some sort of tofu turkey product for my family's Thanksgiving. Wondering if anyone here has made the tofu turkey from scratch with success or used the stuffed tofurkey? I am going " home " to visit my parents and they will still be having the usual turkey and such. Glad to find your sight! Melissa
Guest guest
I make it a lot and my sis and I love it. We trade off between that and a lentil loaf. One for each holiday (TG, Christmas, Easter ect...) where there is a family thing. Our family are big meaties. If you make it use the Apricot glaze and make sure to baste it on a few times to keep it moist. That was the mistake I made the first time and it got dry and rubbery. I am glad I tried again! ~Mel --- Melissa <mapalicka wrote: > Hi, I just signed on to the group and was browsing > the Thanksgiving > type recipes. I like the cranberries in the salad > idea! Guest guest
HI Melissa: My daughter and I like the tofurkey brand. Since my daughter does not like stuffing we usually cut it in half and take the stuffing out and stuff it with something else. Sometimes we do a mixture out of canned pumpkin and sometimes we do some kind of garlic smashed potatoes. Then we put some seasonings over the top and bake it up. You can also spread some margarine over the top to it browns nicely. You can also do a mixture of wine and butter if you want to. Gayle Melissa <mapalicka Thu, 03 Nov 2005 02:35:35 -0000 tofurkey?
