Guest guest Posted October 31, 2005 Report Share Posted October 31, 2005 Hi, Thanks for letting me join. I'm the food service coordinator at a drug/alcohol rehab. I'm also a vegetarian myself with longings toward vegan but haven't been able to give up cheese. My biggest downfall. We are not vegetarian at work but only serve meat once a day. I'm trying to teach clients better ways of eating and get them to experiement more with new foods but it's not easy. Get a lot!!!! of grief for not serving meat at every meal. Fortunatly my boss is also vegetarian and there are studies showing that meat is not good for bodies fresh into recovery so that helps a little bit. But it's still a struggle. I like a lot of foods that the biggest part of our clients turn their noses up. So I'm always looking for some new recipes that they will try without bitching.
