Guest guest
i know i am getting here late on this and you likely had many wonderful suggestions already, but... *lol* First off i wanted to say how very kind it is of you to offer to take meals to your injured friend. i have done this in the past as well, and it is always in need and very much appreciated. As a vegetarian taking meals to an omnivore family, i have found Italian dishes quite forgiving. i often take stuffed shells, or spinach lasagne rolls, or a rich baked ziti. i always supply a loaf of garlic bread, a tossed salad, and a dessert; like a cake or some cookies, or a pie. With a full meal like this, nobody ever missed the meat or felt cheated or weirded out by unusual foods. Even some simple macaroni and cheese with a vegetable side dish, rolls, and dessert, etc. Can't go wrong with simple and basic meatless meals. i would also vote against the pizza hut certificates, unless you give them for use on a night when nobody could fix them a meal. They will likely use that sort of thing enough during her recovery so as to get sick of take-out. No substitute for a delicious, lovingly prepared home-cooked meal. ~ pt ~ You can sometimes count every orange on a tree but never all the trees in a single orange. ~ A.K.
