Guest guest
Welcome into our group! I'm Donna and I will have to post you a tamale recipe soon. I place a mild canned ortega chili slice inside or a fresh roasted one and some grated cheese of your chioice, I use soy cheese. They are delicious! Newsome <newsome.5 wrote: Hi all! I'm new, so I hope this is repetitive. I've been craving tamales lately, but the only ones I ever had were chicken, and that was a long time ago. I found a few recipes online, but I'm looking for something a little more savory and less spicy. If that even makes sense. I hope someone has some good ideas. I have no idea how to even begin making them! Best, Teresa
Guest guest
Susie's recipe I'm sure will be a wonderful one to try. Make sure you use vegetable shortening and not oil. You have to beat the shortening to a fluffy consistency. That's very important. They are well worth the time to make. Tamales freeze and reheat well too so make a bunch. Just get that apron , put some good loud salsa music on in the background and have some warm tea and get started, they are actually fun to make............Cheers!
