Guest guest
These are the best. Watch faces as they try this cookie. They travel well and make a good gift. The tops crack a bit and the powdered sugar looks like snow on top. " Chocolate Snowflakes (cookies) 4 of the (1 ounce) unsweetened chocolate squares (in baking isle of store) 2 cups sugar 1/2 cup vegetable oil 4 eggs 2 tsps. vanilla extract 2 cups all purpose flour 2 tsps. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt * 3/4 cup sifted powdered sugar to roll balls in * Don't add to cookie dough Combine sugar, oil and melted chocolate in a large mixing bowl, beat at medium speed of an electric mixer until well blended. Add eggs and vanilla and mix well. In a medium bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt and stir dry ingredients together until well blended. Add about 1/4 of the dry mixture at a time to the chocolate mixture. Mixing after each addition. Cover batter and let chill for 2 hours. Preheat oven and grease cookie sheets. Shape dough into 1-inch balls and roll in powdered sugar. Place cookies 2 inches apart on prepared cookie sheet. bake for 9 to 12 minutes. Cool on wire rack. *Note - Make sure you use unsweetened chocolate not the semi sweetened. Make sure you let this dough chill, makes it easier to handle, I always put a drop of vegetable oil on my hands before I roll cookies, just a drop now. I also place chocolate squares in a Pyrex bowl or 2 cup measuring cup and melt the chocolate on low defrost in the microwave and stir often until melted. The double boiler is too much extra work and not needed. FareChase - Search multiple travel sites in one click.
