this is pretty straight foward and simple was wondering how to make it a veggie

dish. i could try a different recipe all together but trying to stick with what

i know already. not sure if i should just add more and different types of beans

or just use a meat alternative.

5 lbs ground beef or turky (i use 2/3 lb respectively)

2 large onions

3 clove garlics

2 habanero peppers

5 jalapeno peppers

2 lbs kidney beans

2 cans of diced tomato or equivalent fresh

1 1/2 cup chili powder

2 tablespoons cumin

GUINESS beer

prepare beans by doing the quick soak method on pkg.

fry meat with onions and garlic and drain.

place meat and beans in 6 qt. crockpot.

slice habanero and jalapeno with gloves on and add to pot.

add tomato and spices to pot.

add enough GUINESS beer to cover the rest of the ingredients (usually takes

about 3 16 oz cans)

cook on low for 12 - 16 hours. i use it for main course as well as serve it with

nachos.

thanks for any and all help with this.

Re: I'm in the mood for...... Hi Matt and his chili

Hi Matt,

We don't post meat recipes in the files but you asked about making this

vegetarian and if a meat alternative would work or just the beans without the

meat alternative. Please do post it and let's have a look. We will know by the

recipe if TVP or Crumbles would be good or if there's enough beans and spices to

make it without either of those. I'm curious, I love chili too. Just incase

anyone misses this post put a little message stating " how can this be made into

a vegetarian chili.

Smiles and nice seeing your post!

Hi Matt,

for myself just leaving out the meat would do. ( I'll be trying it, by the

way, never thought of adding Guiness) for those accustomed to the original recipe

though I'd use meat substitutes - many a carnivore has loved my spagetti sauce

and swore there had to be meat in it!

peace,

Angela
