Guest guest
I made this last night. Was very good. Gets a nice crunchy edge and fast to assemble. The best part it's a dish you can make up with your leftovers like steamed veggies, rice, etc. " TVP Loaf with Vegetables " 1 cup TVP (grandular style, not the chunk) 1 cup veggie broth 1/2 cup cooked white or brown rice 1/2 finely chopped green onion (scallions) or brown onion 1 cup finely chopped Chinese napa cabbage (I used regular cabbage and it was fine) 1 cup diced, steamed or cooked veggies (I used frozen mixed veggies and steamed enough so they were still firm) 1 tsp. grated ginger 2 cloves garlic minced 1 Tblspn. teriyaki sauce 2 tsps. lite soy or tamari sauce 1/3 tp 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (I used a scant 1/2 cup) 1/4 cup flour pepper (dash ) red pepper flakes (dash) 1 egg beaten Preheat oven to 350 degrees and oil an 8-inch loaf pan. Heat veggie broth to a boil and turn fire off, place in bowl and add TVP, cover bowl with a plate and let sit for 10 mins. while the TVP reconstitutes. Mix TVP andbalance of ingredients together and pack mixture into loaf pan. Smooth top with back of spoon. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes. Loosen sides of loaf with a knife. Unmold onto a serving plate. NOTE* I added some chopped cilantro to mine and I also lifted bottom of both sides of loaf easily with a metal spatula. " I guarantee you, this place will blow your mind.
