Guest guest
my son had his birthday last night and his aunts got him a hermit crab complete with cage, accessories, and hermit crab care book. Jacob was in heaven--he has wanted one forever. he is our Dr. Doolittle--he has a very hard time relating to people because of his autism but animals he relates to very well. his poor therapy dog wouldn't go near the hermit crab and cowered in my bed--mind you he's 100 lbs of black lab : ). the crab is very cute and is officially adopted here as I am talking to it like another child. I think we will get a bigger habitat for it this weekend as I think he needs more room to move around and more stuff to climb on. Jacob was reading his care book and decided since I was a vegetarian, his crab could eat off my salad plate as crabs like salad and veggies/fruit : ). I said we can get him his own little salad bowl : ). oh and the name of hermit crab-- " burrito " --we have no idea why Jacob (he knows in his head somewhere) would pick that as a name but it's sticking for now : )............... Anne PS--I am jealous of everyone who has a cat--we had to find a home for ours when we found out Oscar was the one causing our daughter's airways to close off : ( . I am so much more a cat person than dog but am slowly getting better with our dog Max--he is Jacob's best friend and helps him stay connected to this world : ). Guest guest
Anne, sounds like a grand new adventure, and good for Jacob too! Sorry to hear about your daughter's allergies, though.
