Guest guest
Hey Heather! Welcome! Diet for a New America is pretty old, but still a wonderful book, but John Robins (who created EarthSave*, and is the son of the Baskin Robbins ice cream people) also wrote " The Food Revolution " how your diet can help save your life and our world. this one was published in 2001. if you are interested in reading more on this Howard Lyman ( the former cattle rancher who sparked Oprah Winfrey to publicly state that she would never eat a burger again** subsequently resulting in the cattlemen's beef association to file a law suit ***) wrote a great book... Mad Cowboy * plain truth from the cattle rancher who won't eat meat. also, I've read Lynda Blair's book " Going Vegan " . It's a pretty simple book, designed to show the easy way to make the transition to the vegan lifestyle. There are some recipes in the back.. it's not the most amazing piece of literature, but information is pretty good.. it's more a general overview. anwyay, Welcome to the group Heather! I hope this info is helpful! and I'm sure you'll love it here! =) jenni * EarthSave's web site.. here you can see if there is a local chapter as well.. good way to meet local vegetarians! http://www.earthsave.org/ **Howard Lyman's web page... http://www.madcowboy.com/ ***go here to read the transcripts of that show.. http://www.mcspotlight.org/media/television/oprah_transcript.html **** more on the cattlemen's feelings toward Oprah's comments http://www.mad-cow.org/~tom/oprah.html On Sunday, October 2, 2005, at 11:38 PM, Heather Graves wrote: > Hello there, > > I just became vegetarian in January.
