Thick Serrano Chile Paste recipe

This is very hot but tastes good on bean and rice or any soft taco you like to

make and eat. You can spread this on enchiladas too. It's very different from

the regular salsa type.

 

Thick Serrano Chili Paste

 

10 whole serrano peppers or jalapeno will work but I like the serrano

1 onion, chopped fine

1 or 2 garlic cloves crushed

1 teaspoon of salt

very little bit of water or lime juice

 

 

If you have a cast iron pan or in a very hot oven, roast the whole peppers until

they are dark and charcoal looking, keep turning them. Cool them and remove

some of the black skin. Place in a mortar and crush up with the rest of the

ingredients until you form a paste, add a little water or lime juice until it

makes a good paste.
