Guest guest
Hi Amy, Since I had the recipe out and posted to the group, and I had some Tofurky sausage in the fridge I said, this is perfect. I love this thick soup so I made it also last night. I have leftovers for lunch. I always toss the finely shredded cabbage in mine. HAppy you both enjoyed it. How's the new job? You have to tell us about it. It's a small kitchen, so he often puts bulk items in smaller containers he's saved... that means lots of things aren't what the labels say! So I have to learn that, plus, how he particular likes things, plus the whole flow of the day... and one thing I hadn't considered: I think I need to take up weight training!! I'm serious - have you ever lifted a sheet pan loaded with 15 pounds of zucchini bread, over your head into a hot oven? *lol* Plus, they/we make base muffin mixes every other day, so the second day's mix is really stiff from the refrigerator and it's a little hard to mix the different ingredients in for each flavor... but man there are some good ones!!! Today I helped peel & slice apples for pies... he used a neat trick I hadn't seen before! Peel the apple, and while it's still whole- use a melon baller to scoop the top part of the stem out, and then the bottom part. Then cut the all the apples in half, and use the melon baller again to scoop out the core! Then you can just chop-chop slice them any thickness you need. *tiredhugs* Amy
