Guest guest
welcome to the group Barb--I'm Anne and also a fairly new vegetarian. I also have fibromyalgia and giving up meat products and dairy products have proved to be the best thing I have ever done for myself : ). Giving up meat products wasn't hard at all but dairy was to a degree because we live fairly close to an organic dairy farm and the taste can't be beat. But lately my allergies have been so bad that I decided to lay off the dairy for 1 week and see if it helped with breathing. within 3 days I could breathe clearly without medicine but also all my joint pains were gone--no low back pain, neck pain, horrid headaches, nothing : ). I've been off dairy for almost 3 weeks and feel really good : ). experiment and see what works for you and welcome again : ).............. Guest guest
Thanks so much Anne! I am still not real good at picking the right foods. I ate a biscut this morning and got thinking after I ate it...geez...that had shortening in it...YUCK but I didn't reach for the ones with sausage in them like I would have. I went to the health food stores and found some frozen dinners by Amy's Kitchen and got some garden burgers and of the franks to take to the cookout that I am going to at my dads house on Sunday. I have tried to ease into vegetarian way of life several times but always backslide. This time I decided to go all the way into the lifestyle and not try to ease into it because easing don't work. I still eat some dairy foods but not as much as I used to because eggs give me heart burn. So, I will probably be asking a lot of questions and you guys are really great! Thanks for the warm welcomes! Love Barb > > " jandemommy " <jandemommy > 2005/09/30 Fri AM 06:19:11 EDT > > Barb/fibromyalgia > > welcome to the group Barb--I'm Anne and also a fairly new vegetarian.
