Guest guest Posted September 29, 2005 Report Share Posted September 29, 2005 2 onions, chopped 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 tsp fresh minced ginger 1 1/2 c. red lentils 1 can chickpeas, rinsed and drained 6 c. water 2 potatoes, peeled and diced 15 oz can diced tomatoes 1/2 c. diced carrots 1/2 c. chopped celery 1 tsp garam marsala 1 1/2 tsp ground cardamon 1/2 tsp cayenne 1/2 tsp cumin saute onions, garlic, and ginger till lightly browned in a little olive oil (I usually skip this step). add rest ingredients and simmer till veggies are tender and lentils done. serves 6 **this was much better on the 2nd and 3rd day when spices had really blended together** Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
