I know Zicam works great for me, but you really need to start it as soon as you think you might be getting a cold, not after you get it... OTOH, since you already have the cold try this! I always make it when I'm not feeling well, instead of chicken soup. Garlic & Rice Soup 1 onion, finely chopped 10 medium garlic cloves, chopped (I usually just use a whole head) 3 tbsp olive oil 1 c cooked brown rice 3 c vegetable stock or water 1 tbsp soy sauce 1/2 c chopped fresh parsley (don't forget this -it's loaded with Vit. C and really makes the soup) In a skillet, saute the onion and garlic in the oil until golden and turning brown. In a saucepan, bring the rice, stock, and soy sauce to a boil.
