"Hippie Big Sur Brownies" 2 sqaures of unsweetened baking chocolate (2 ounces) 1/3 cup butter or margarine 2 eggs beaten 1 cup sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 cup flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1 cup walnuts, chopped (optional) Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease an 8X8 pan. Place flour, salt and baking powder together in small bowl and mix well set aside. Melt butter and chocolate together. ( I put them in a Pyrex 2 cup measuring cup, breaking up the chocolate and microwave to melt for about 1-2 minutes on low setting and stir). Place melted chocolate and butter in mixing bowl. Add eggs and vanilla and stir well to mix. Add dry ingredients and mix until everything is incorporated and smooth. Stir in nuts if using. Place in prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
