I have so many recipes that are probably not in this groups files but I will take time and compare my personal recipe book because I always wrote next to them (posted) so that tells me if they aren't in this set if iles they are probably in the other groups.

I will post it around lunch time.

I found more people will eat brussel sprouts if you add to them. Like you, I can steam them and enjoy but that's rare.

I do have my recipe book with me today (:- )))

Re: Jen and her brussel sprouts and oatmeal, here's two ideas for you

Hi Jenn,

Get thick hard steal cut oats and cook them about 15 minutes, the oatmeal will be chewy and you'll enjoy it much better.

I steam brussel sprouts and cut them in half. I pour savory sauce over the top and bread crumbs and even a little parmesan and bake for 30 mins. on 350. Now that will doctor them up if you don't care for them. I didn't check but if the savory vegan sauce isn't in the recipe file let me know and I'll post it for you...........Donna Jennifer <jj_73molly wrote:

Thanks, Chanda. Yes, I will try them. I think I will pull the leaves apart like you recommended. I'll put it on my shopping list. I really do want to try all these veggies. I don't want my girls to not like something because I don't like it. I'll need to keep an open mind and an open tongue for it. Just kidding. I have a textured thing - I hate things with a funny texture. Troy and I talked about it the other day. I have a hard time stomaching oatmeal for breakfast. I've started trying it again, though. I read it takes 5 - 7 times for someone to like something. I know it is healthy and I love it in stuff. It is just the texture that gets me. I'm crazy, I know.

I'll try the brussel sprouts, thanks. Along with Donna's okra. . . I'll have to swish stuff down with some beer :)

I deleted the post today about Brussels sprouts and I forget who posted.

First of all, go easy on my beloved Brussels, they really get a bad rap, and it's not fair.

If you fear Brussels start out with baby Brussels.

steam them and add some butter or margarine and you will find them yummy. The smaller the more tender and good.

A good way to serve them if you have the time is to pull them apart leaf by leaf. Steam the leaves until tender and top with margarine or butter, and don't forget the salt and pepper.

Stop! I'm laughing too hard. What is wrong with that man?

I love them too. I'll try this recipe for the top. I usually make them

during the holidays. I eat them and so does Mom but that's about it. Mo runs,

he can't stand the smell when they are steaming.

xoxoxo, Donna
