Hi Anne. No, I don't think anyone is bored reading your reasons for becoming a vegeterian.

I bet it is hard where you live. My in-laws lived in Wisconsin for quite a few years. My stepson has raised steers. His mom's family is from a farming town. It was very hard the past several years to go to his 4H fair and cheer him on. I have photos of him with his steer. I never could comment to him about how unfair it was to his steer. Brandan moved in with us in August and I'm thankful that I'm done with 4H fairs. We live in the city and there is no way for him to raise a steer.

But my reasons for becoming a vegeterian:

I never had the courage to do this until this July. It is something that I have thought about since being a teenager. But I, like Jy L, did not like vegetables nor did I feel comfortable in my parents home discussing my not wanting to eat meat.

My youngest twin, Lilly, had problems digesting milk based formula. We had to switch to soy. I took advantage of a great sale on ebay and bought tons of soy formula. I put both twins on soy. That started me thinking. . . If I could feed them soy, why do they need to eat m*t later? At this time, Troy and I were discussing only buying m*t that didn't have all that crap injecting. I went on-line and starting looking at vegeterianism. I want our girls to grow up healthier. We both believe that many children now days are obese because of the crap the marketing companies want them to eat in addition to the lack of exercise. So, I looked and looked. Oh, the last straw to convert me was a Dr. Phil. I watched one where a couple was raising their child a vegan. The father was a vegan and said he never felt better when he was a vegan. I don't know why, but at the time of taping, he was no longer a vegan, but his

daughter was. Dr. Phil said that daughter ate better than most Americans. My light bulb was flashing at this time. . .

I decided to be a vegeterian and Troy decided to make the plunge with me.

Sorry for the long babble.

Good luck with your journey and hope that you can find some recipes to help.
