Guest guest
Just before we left, DH & I went to a meeting of a church group we'd been involved in, and they had a potluck going away for us. One of the ladies made this slaw, and it was so good... she gave me the recipe, and it was after our stuff had been packed and hauled away, so I actually have it! Anyway, I thought I'd share... Oriental Cabbage Salad 5 green onions, chopped, including greens 1 head napa or regular cabbage (she used 2 pkgs of " angel hair cabbage " ) --put both in plastic bag and refrigerate --Brown the following in a little oil 2 bags crushed (broken up) ramen noodles 1/4 cup sesame seeds 1 pkg slivered almonds --drain any excess oil and refrigerate --DO NOT use flavoring from ramen soup Dressing 1/2 cup canola oil 1 tbsp soy sauce 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup cider vinegar --mix, refrigerate --Toss all ingredients just before serving. Sunflower seeds may also be added.
Guest guest
> Amy, I made this salad tonight and enjoyed it. I changed it a little > to use what I had. I used red cabbage, changed the canola oil to half > canola and half sesame oil, and changed the cidar vinegar to rice > vinegar. I love cabbage and really liked this salad. Jane - I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Everyone at the meeting loved it, and I was the only vegetarian there!
