Guest guest
an ACK! and a WOOHOO! .... found out the driver isn't scheduled to arrive here with our stuff until the 20th!!! (ack!) But, after we found that out, DH told me to look for an office called " Family Support " on one of the bases around here (I think there are 4 or 5!)... turns out there's this thing called the Lending Locker and they have a Hospitality Kit you can borrow for free. So I drove down there (after much map consultation, because I knew it would be hard to look at the map while I was driving) with only two u-turns *yay*, and now we have 3 pots, a pan, a CAN OPENER yay, and assorted other kitchen items. No bread pans or anything " fancy " like that, but at least this coming Monday I can make red beans & rice like I usually do! :-) Oh, and there's a toaster & a coffemaker in there too. Not sure what else. They also had two thick camping mats (about 2 " thick) that will be lots more comfortable than the thin backpacking ones we use, so DH's back will feel better! Plus, good news for me - on the way to base, I saw a big sign on the side of a building for the rock climbing gym, so now I have an idea where it is. Can hardly wait to start climbing again (it's been over 4 years)... Oh! When I went to the vet this morning (which, thank goodness for the kitties, is only 2 1/2 miles away), I realized I was near the WHole Foods... so I stopped in for laundry soap and got a snack - they had a Blackberry Banana Muffin; wow, it was yummy!!! Still had walnuts, but also a bunch of blackberries tossed in. It was a great combo! *hugs* all, Amy
Guest guest
HI Amy: That is so great that they have a place for you to get things for your house. You must be happy that you can cook and stuff now. Gayle
