Guest guest
I just wanted to say thank you for everyone who has posted meat sub recipes. I find that by using food like this, I more easily convince my students and family... then they often go off on their own and try the more " exotic " veggie fare. I teach a " plants and people " lab at a university and in this lab is a lot of eating. This year, one of the labs was beans and rice, and soybeans are beans. So, they all tried soy milk, rice milk and soy cheese. Most of them had never considered eating this before but now most acknowledge that it is pretty good and not something to be scared of. This is a big step for these very conservative students! Someone mentioned dog food... While not willing to put my dog on a veggie diet, I do feed him organic dog food. The stuff that we both like is Solid Gold dog food. It's hard to find (which makes it ever so amazing that it is in my little town) but is usually at very nice pet stores. Uses only the muscles, tendons and ligaments from lamb, plus a slew of veggies... and is preservative free. I switched because my dog was diagnosed with cancer and it just made sense to feed the best that is out there. It is expensive, but a lot cheaper than the radiation and chemo that he went through. Anyways, I'm not affiliated with the company at all, but have been impressed with their product and thought you health minded folks out there might be interested...
