Guest guest
When I was a kid, my great grandma would make this special slaw for me everytime I visited, along with mashed potatoes and fried chicken. It was a special meal that I always loved... to this day, I really don't like creamy slaw but have rarely found a person who didn't like this. Plus, it always reminds me of Gram and all the good times I spent with her... Enjoy! Gram's Slaw Layer, end with the cabbage: 1 head cabbage, shredded (or 4 bags shredded cabbage) 1 large sliced onion 1 cup sugar In a pan boil: 1 cup sugar 1 cup white vinegar 1 cup vegetable oil 1 t. salt 1 t. celery seed 1 T. dry mustard Pour over cabbage, let sit in fridge for 24 hours. DO NOT STIR! After 24 hours, stir well. Gets better after the second day.
