Also a good way to use up the last tomatoes from your garden. Green Tomato Mincemeat Source: My Mom 6 cups apples, pared and chopped 6 cups green tomatoes, chopped 1/2 tsp. allspice 1 tsp. salt 4 cups sugar 1 1/2 cups water 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 3/4 cup butter 2 glasses jelly (apple or grape) Mix all together except butter and jelly. Cook until apples are soft. Add butter and jelly. Boil 15 minutes. Seal in heated sterilized jars. Then it will be ready to use when you need it.
