Guest guest
Hello! I am new to the vegetarian world and am in need of new, inventive ways to incorporate veggies into our family meals. I am married to a meat eater who is leary of the vegetarin 'thing'. I snuck some crumbled veggie burger in the last batch of chili i made and he liked it, but after telling him it had no meat, he never ate another helping of it. Usually he will take some the next day for lunch, but he didnt this time. Im not really interested in converting him, and dont have a strong objection to cooking for him, but I just feel that it is not right for me anymore. For about 5 years (or more), Ive been rescuing companion animals from the streets and from death row at our local shelter. I live in a town who has a pretty large chicken processing industry and there are tractor-trailor trucks that haul crate upon crate of chickens to thier deaths... Since I moved here, some 14 years ago, I have had a problem with eating chickens...obviously! Well, I didnt mean to get long-winded, but I felt these are my high points for becoming vegetarian and for wanting to incorporate more into the meals I serve to my family.Sincerely, Donna V. Guest guest
Welcome Donna! One of my favorite cookbooks is the Peaceful Palate. You might try looking for it at the bookstore and see if it fits your beginning needs. I am not a creative cook and have very limited cooking skills but found this book to be helpful.
