Guest guest
OK yall, I have to jump in on this. I HATE being preached at and being told that I am not quite as good as you are. If ya want to do that, go join the " holier than thou " list and leave me the hell alone. And, unless you " true " vegies out there are buying locally produced organic produce all year round - SHUT UP! I grew up on a farm and while you are all enjoying cheap whole wheat bread and feeling healthy, my poor dad was working two full time jobs and a part time job. If you really want to be world friendly, start paying more for your food and give the farmers, and their kids, a fighting chance. And while you're at it, check out The Land Institute. Wes Jackson is a friend of mine and he is DOING something about making the world a better place. (By the way, he eats meat...) Yes, I am a vegetarian, but I do it for health reasons. I am perfectly happy that some of you love cows. I do too. But I grew up on a farm, a wheat farm, and we had chickens and cows and other stuff... I know reality, do you? It's easy to say poor cow when you have only ever seen them in the zoo. I also lived in the Dominican Republic and there I learned that being vegie is a luxury of the rich. The poor folk of the world don't care, they are hungry and malnourished and starving. And until you look a starving little neighbor girl in the face and can tell her that the chicken is more important than her chance to grow up without malnutrition induced retardation, then don't come preaching to me....
