Guest guest
This is pretty quick. Veat is a frozen vegetarian chicken-type product. It comes looking like half a chicken or in bites. I get mine at our health-food store. They also have a web-site www.veat.com that can tell you where to buy it. It is really good but I'm sure you can use any meat substitute for this recipe. Pineapple-Orange Veat 4 oz pineapple chunks, drained 1 small red pepper, cut into strips 2 Tbs soy sauce 1 Tbs dry sherry 3 Tbs frozen orange juice, thawed 2 Tsp cornstarch ¼ tsp sugar 1 tsp vegetable oil 1 ½ tsp grated fresh ginger root Mix bites (thawed) with 1 Tbs soy sauce and the sherry and set aside. Mix concentrate, ½ Tbs water, cornstarch, sugar and 1 Tbs soy sauce. Fry ginger & pepper in oil approximately 2 min. Remove from pan. Add more oil and fry bites 1-2 min. Add cornstarch mixture and stir until sauce thickens. Mix in peppers and pineapple. Serve over hot rice.
