Tangy Marinated Tofu Strips

 

Ingredients:

 

1 package extra firm tofu

1/3 cup balsamic vinegar

2 tbsp white vinegar or red wine vinegar

2 tbsp black bean sauce

cracked black pepper (to taste)

 

Directions:

First, cut the block of tofu into 4 vertical sections. Then cut each

section again in half (basically you want to cut tofu into medium sized

strips). Put tofu in a bowl or dish which will allow the marinade to cover

the strips.

 

Mix marinade ingredients & add to the tofu making sure it saturates

into the tofu. Cover and let soak for the afternoon (2-4 hours). Make

sure you let the tofu marinate for a while for it to really soak up the

flavor. (Hint: poke strips with fork make tofu more absorbent)

 

When ready to cook, transfer ingredients (tofu and sauce) to pan and

cook at medium heat for 5 minutes or so (occasionally flipping strips)or

until most of the marinade evaporates.

 

This recipe is quite flexible- you can half it easily as well. If you have

extra wine (preferably red) you could add a dash of that as well- yum.
