Guest guest
I know someone already asked about this but I seemed to have misplaced the post. I've never seen Green Giant meat substitute here in Vancouver so can veggie ground round be used as substitute? If so, how much? My husband would love me more then ever if I could come up with a good hamburger gravy recipe. ;-)I imagine that frozen peas or corn could be added as well? Thanks Cher --- cdipietro wrote: > " Hamburger " Gravy > > Ingredients: > > 2/3 bag Green Giant meat substitute > 1 cube vegetable stock > 2 cups water > 2 Tablespoons flour > 1 cup chopped onions > a little soy butter/oil > > Directions: > > Boil 1.5 cups of water with the cube of vegetable > stock. Guest guest
Oh absolutely! I would have taken the " Green Giant " out if I'd thought about it. According to the Green Giant bag, 1 bag = 1 pound of meat, so I'd use the equivalent of 2/3 lb meat for whatever you are using as substitute.
