Guest guest Posted August 2, 2001 Report Share Posted August 2, 2001 Quick Chutney 2 Apples (tart green varieties work best) 3 Shallots, peeled and minced 3/4 cup Vinegar, white 3/4 cup Brown sugar, light 1/3 cup Raisins 1 Tablespoon Ginger, fresh, peeled and minced 1/8 teaspoon Red pepper flake (optional) Place all ingredients in a medium saucepan. Slowly bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce the heat and simmer for 45 minutes, stirring frequently. Cool, cover, and store refrigerated until needed. Makes 2 cups.
