Guest guest
Ahh, you have a little one in the house In that case, anything at all on the dinner table is considered a success and a hubby who helps is a wonderful hubby. Next time he brings home some strange thing run over here and tell us what it is, and we will see what we can do to help! Meanwhile here are a couple things I do with brocoli and mushrooms: Saute the mushrooms with some onion in a bit of oil, chop and nuke the brocoli until starting to get tender. Toss the brocoli in the pan with a can of mushroom soup. If you have a lot also add a can of cream of celery soup. Add enough water to make the consistency you want, check (add) seasonings. Meanwhile nuke a couple potatoes. Serve the creamed brocoli over the potatoes. (You can also add any other veggies you have on hand) My hubby loves this stuff. Saute the mushrooms and chopped brocoli with some onions. When starting to get tender, add chopped or crushed garlic, a clove or two to taste, and a little hot chili oil. Makes an interesting spicy side dish. You can nuke the brocoli a bit to get it going faster, and you can add any other veggies you like. I do this with green beans instead of brocoli a lot. You can substitute a finely chopped hot pepper for the hot chili oil too. Guest guest
Thanks a lot for the recipes Kris, they sound like something quick and tasty that I should be able to manage. I also appreciate the " anything on the dinner table is a success " comment. Some days are much tougher than others! And frustrating when most people don't understand that it's not the easiest job in the world to be a stay at home mom. Anyhow, I will definately ask you all for advice next time hubby brings home something wierd!
