Guest guest
Hi, Here is a baked bean recipe we enjoy at cookouts and BBQ's. It comes from The Peaceful Palate. 2 1/2 cups dried navy beans or other small white bean 1 onion chopped 1 15 ou can tomato sauce 1/2 cup molasses 2 teaspoons stone ground or Dijon mustard 2 tablespoons vinegar 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or granules 1-2 teaspoons salt (we like things spicy so I add a bit of fresh chopped hot peppers) You can bake or use a crock pot. Soak beans for 6-8 hours. Then rinse and cook with chopped onion in enough water to cover about an inch. 2 - 3 hours or until tender. Transfer to oven safe dish and add the remaining ingred. Mix gently. Bake at 350 for 2 to 3 hours. For crock pot, just cook beans then discard soaking water transfer to crock pot and add other ingred. Cook on high for 2 - 3 hours. Enjoy!
